Partner with a BKML Teaching Artist
Our Teaching Artists (TAs), trained in our music-based active learning methodology, use their instruments to weave together music, movement, and education—transforming the classroom into an unforgettable experience.
By partnering with our TAs, your students will enjoy high-energy, engaging sessions that combine dynamic musical activities, dancing, social-emotional learning, and exercise. Each class is designed not only to spark joy, but also to nurture creativity, focus, and connection. After our sessions, students return to their regular classroom teachers feeling energized, inspired, and refreshed—ready to learn with renewed enthusiasm.
While our classes feature a lot of music-based active learning, we also offer instrumental instruction on djembe (drumming), violin, and recorder (basic flute). All instrumental instruction will lead up to an End Of Year Performance to be included in your students graduation / stepping up ceremonies.
**Lastly, we offer amazing Interactive Concerts that can be booked throughout the school year—whether for Back-to-School events in September, End-of-Year Celebrations in May or June, or simply as a unique experience to re-energize and inspire students along their academic journey. Afterschool Drumming: Elementary, Middle, & High Schools
Rhythm & Drum

Raise your students Vibrations with the Sounds of the DRUM!

Led by our talented percussionists, the Rhythm & Drum program blends the energy of drumming with the spirit of teamwork to create an unforgettable experience. Students gain a strong foundation in drumming techniques using djembe drums while exploring a wide range of rhythms and musical styles from around the world—both classic and contemporary.

Along the way, students build confidence, coordination, and unity as they work through traditional West African drumming arrangements and drumming arrangements of contemporary hit songs that they love in genres like Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Soca, and Latin Pop. The program culminates in a vibrant, student-led performance that showcases both their technical skills and the original and/or remixed music they’ve created together.

***This program also features an interactive African Drumming performance led by the NYC based ensemble Ballet Fè Sa (seen in the video). The interactive performance can be delivered as an addition to the student-led EOY performance, or delivered at an earlier time, such as Black History Month, or the beginning of the school year, to both inspire the students on their drumming journey, and bring a touch of West African culture to your student body.
